School Choices

This is another potentially hotly contested area between co-parents.

Planning the children’s primary education and transition to secondary education as well as further education is going to be an important part of your co-parenting relationship for years to come. If it is not possible to reach an agreement about what the right school is, consider mediation or arbitration to decide the issue. The court is going to consider what’s in the child’s best interests, as with all other issues, via a side by side comparison of the different options.

Sometimes parents who get divorced will have established a fund out of their capital or set up an income fund to pay for school fees and the affordability of private education will need to be considered on an ongoing basis.
